BFR Seminar 2011
The inaugural BFR Seminar 2011 took place from 21st to 24th November 2011 in Westin Hotel Kuala Lumpur and saw the participation of 52 senior officer from 14 countries that include South Africa, Tanzania, Botswana, Nigeria, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, and many more.
It is very amazing! It's not about the programme. It is the implementation process, the way it is managed, the enforcement process, the monitoring, the documentation, and facilitation which is very important.
Ludovick James Nduhiye
Cabinet Assistant Secretary / Cabinet Secretariat, Tanzania
I find the the seminar and workshop very, very useful and indeed, the way it's structured builds upon not just a group of experts telling us what to do but also facilitating us to think much more strategically about what we do and trying to find some of the solutions within ourselves.
Technical Advisor to the Honourable Minister on Monitoring and Evaluation, Nigeria
Very insightful. There's a lot to be learned and I believe that in terms of principles, the BFR methodology is universally applicable. In terms of the module, of course you have to think how you can adapt this given module to particular circumstances and into a given political, economic and social context.
CEO, National Competitiveness Foundation, Armenia
We find the BFR methodology a very useful tool to address the challenges the government is facing… Particularly, I’m encouraged by the level of planning, the time that is spent on planning, elaboration on how the implementation should go about.
Member of the Executive Council, Free State Provincial Government, South Africa
I'm highly impressed. When you are running a programme like this, you need the support of the highest political authority. With this singular act or arrangement, Malaysia seems to be achieving its ambitions or is already becoming a first world country because I don't think I have seen any other country doing it.
Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman OFR
Honorable Minister and Deputy Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Nigeria
